For those of you interested in learning & expanding your skills, these classes are opportunities to further develop your craft. Please read our FAQ section below.
Welding Classes in Atlanta Area
Welding classes are taught by Gabi Madrid at the following locations
Roswell Firelabs 2.5 hour class, maximum of 4 students, $125 a student. you’ll learn all the techniques below and walk away ready to weld.

Mass Collective 4 hour class maximum of 6 students, $190 a student, in depth class covering all the techniques below, it’s a longer class with more practice

Mig Welding Classes Whichever class you choose you will walk you through how t prepare steel stock before welding and how to set up a mig welder, from choosing the correct settings and adjusting the regulator for the Argon/CO2 gas. You will learn how to mig (metal inert gas) weld with solid wire from tacking your pieces together, creating a consistent weld pattern, and you will come away from class with your own metal project!
Wear closed toed shoes, jeans, 100% cotton shirt, & bring water bottle Safety gear provided (gloves, jacket, saftety glases, and ear protection)
FAQ
Q: Which class should I sign up for?
A: It’s recommended that you chose based on location in proximity to you, preferred class size, and cost. You’ll learn the same techniques and methods no matter which you select.
Q: What is the dress code?
A: Closed toed shoes, as well as long cotton pants and shirts are a must. Please wear leather or canvas shoes, not synthetic sneakers. For your own safety, no synthetic fabrics please. Gloves, jackets, earplugs and eye protection will be provided.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A : Water bottle, bandanna, reading class (if needed, recommendation is to wear contacts)
Q: How many people can sign up?
A: Roswell Firelabs - 4 people per class & MASS Collective - 6 people per class
Q: Is there an age requirement?
A: Students must be above the age of 13, Students under 18 will either need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Q: What is the refund/ transfer policy?
A: Roswell Firelabs - Additionally, a $35 fee will be separately invoiced if you have a scheduling conflict and need to switch to a later class.contact us at info@roswellfirelabs.org for other concerns or questions regarding refund/transfer policy
Mass Collective - We will refund any ticket requested for any reason up to 7 days before the course date. If possible we will make every effort to transfer tickets to future course dates if contacted more than 24 hours before the course begins. If the class cannot run as scheduled, purchaser will have the option of a full refund or credit towards ta future class.
2D Media
These workshops are best suited for groups of 10-25 children or adults between 1-4 hours, off-site by request (e.g. events, school programs, adult living facility workshops, etc). Prices will vary based on number of participants, activity, location & duration.
Papermache Building - Create a wire armature frame, build form with newspaper & tape, cover in newspaper strips dipped in glue, then dry with blow dryer & paint with acrylic.
Papermaking - Learn to make handmade paper by blending old paper scraps & using a mould & deckle to form paper; add flowers, leaves, gold flakes for an unique look!
2D Collage - Combine various images cut out from magazines, construction paper, & more using scissors then glue pieces on board & seal with mod podge to create collage.
